Mushroom cultivation:
Heereco boasts a growing surface area totalling 5800 m2,split over three sites in Uden (Brabant, Netherlands), with regular suppliers close by. Deliveries of fresh organic button mushrooms, organic chestnut mushrooms and organic portobellos are made from these sites to our customers all year round.
Composting:
Heereco has had its own composting facility, located in the Dutch town of Broekhuizen, since the beginning of 2016. It is here that the organic substrate is conditioned in polytunnels and this is also where the organic compost is inoculated with the mushroom culture. The resulting prepared compost is then sent from here to our own growing sites. We also sell compost to third parties.
Drying facility:
At the end of 2016, Heereco acquired its own certified drying facility. This enables us to dry large quantities of organic mushrooms, thereby extending their shelf life. The dried mushrooms are then used in products such as organic soups and sauces. Our dried mushroom products are sold through a German trading partner. Our drying facility is certified to FSSC 22000 standards.
These, along with other developments, mean that we are now better equipped to respond to our clients' wishes.
Heereco also offers various
possibilities with its range of non-perishable produce.
